Built by a paraglider for paragliders.
Why this exists
Flying days are too short and too rare. We started SkyVerdict because deciding whether to drive 90 minutes to a launch shouldn't take an hour of tab-juggling. The pilot decides whether to fly. The homework that gets you to a clean answer shouldn't be yours.
SkyVerdict began inside a paragliding club. The bot calls GO / CAUTION / NO-GO for every site they fly, every flying hour. On 2026‑05‑16 we opened it to the world as @SkyVerdict_Bot. No group gate. Any pilot, anywhere, any launch.
How we do it
Other apps assume you're a meteorologist. SkyVerdict assumes you're a pilot with 90 minutes to drive and a marginal day.
Forecast apps show you the data: surface wind, gusts, pressure-level stuff, the precipitation forecast. That's exactly the problem. Seven tabs of correct data isn't a verdict. It's a homework assignment.
SkyVerdict reads the same forecasts, then runs them through a pilot-level threshold engine that knows what working wind, gust spread, altitude shear, hard ceilings, and overdevelopment risk mean for your level. The output is one of three things: GO, CAUTION, or NO-GO. Hourly. Per site. Per pilot.
For pilots who want the data, the verdict shows the underlying numbers too. For pilots who just want a call, the verdict is the call.
What we are NOT
SkyVerdict is a judgement-aid, not a safety guarantee. The disclaimer below is real and legal. We will never tell you it is safe to fly. We will tell you what the verdict for your level and site is, today, this hour. The decision stays with you. So does the responsibility.
Planning tool only. Weather forecasts and live station readings can be wrong, missing, or stale. The verdict reflects pilot-level thresholds and per-site overrides. It is not a certification, not a forecast guarantee, not an authorisation to fly.
Always apply your own judgement, consult local experienced pilots, check multiple weather sources, and confirm conditions on the ground before launching. Neither SkyVerdict nor its maintainers accept liability for decisions made based on the bot's output.
We fly too
If the bot is dark on a flying day, we're stuck on the ground with you. That's why we keep it running.
